Foundation For Black Philanthropy Endowments
Foundation For Black Philanthropy is a collective power to celebrate and uplift the strong tradition of Black giving in our community.
Originally called the African American Community Foundation, FFBP was made possible by planned gifts from Lethia Henderson and Elizabeth S. Randolph. Over the years, the volunteer grantmaking board has awarded more than $500,000 to nonprofits serving the local Black community.
The Lethia Henderson Fund for a Healthy Black Community supports organizations addressing the health and nutrition of students ages 0-18, as well as programs providing services for diseases that disproportionately affect African Americans. The board looks for innovative, cultural and community-based interventions that reduce health disparities.
The Elizabeth S. Randolph Fund for Education and Prosperity has two areas of focus:
- Education. It supports innovative and curriculum-based programs for underachieving students to achieve at or above grade level, with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering and math. The board seeks programs that encourage positive behaviors during out-of-school hours through accessible, high quality pre-school, after-school, summer and extended day learning opportunities.
- Economic Development. It funds programs that provide support for African American-owned businesses in the areas of training, counseling and technical assistance.
You can support these funds using the form below, through your donor advised fund or in a planned gift.
