Belk Place

Your Home for Civic Engagement

Come Be Inspired at Belk Place

Belk Place is a hub for civic engagement and philanthropy in our region.

Belk Place is a campus of civic amenities located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. The campus includes the Luski-Gorelick Center for Philanthropy, the Levine Conference Center, the Robinson Center for Civic Leadership and the Sonia and Isaac Luski Gallery, as well as the Carolina Theatre and an Intercontinental Hotel that will rise above.

Named in honor of a generous lead gift to the Carolina Theatre restoration from the late Katherine Belk, the late Thomas M. Belk, and the late Claudia and John M. Belk, the campus celebrates the family's many civic contributions to our region.

A legacy of Civic Engagement

In 1927 a newly expanded Belk flagship store opened to great fanfare on Trade Street in Charlotte. Nine decades later, the Belk name is returning to Uptown. Belk Place will be our region’s home for philanthropy, civic engagement and thought leadership – all synonymous with the Belk family name.
